About shattered figures

Shattered Figures are a Philadelphia band that’s spent years moving through the Northeast underground the old-fashioned way: playing shows, loading gear, making records, and gradually building something real.

Their music pulls from heavy alternative rock, slowcore, shoegaze, and melodic post-punk, but never settles comfortably into any one category. The songs are driven as much by atmosphere and tension as by volume.

Lead singer Charlyanne Nester gives the band its emotional center, shifting between restraint and full-force intensity without sounding performative. Marc Feldman builds dense layers of guitar around melody instead of technique, while bassist Jefferson Tryon and drummer Daniel Messa push the songs forward with patience, weight, and space.

Together, the band sounds less like a collection of influences. And more like four people trying to communicate something difficult in the loudest, most honest way they know how.

For fans of Hum, Failure, The Smashing Pumpkins, Cloakroom, and Alice In Chains, shattered figure songs are shaped by the belief that underground music still matters because people still need it to.
